IDD offers a range of services to support faculty to enrich academic quality, address students’ needs and learning styles, and respond to the instructional opportunities enabled by emerging technologies.
Course Design & Enhancement
IDD’s instructional design consultants work with faculty on a variety of course design and enhancement tasks, including:
- designing new online and hybrid courses
- re-designing and fine-tuning existing online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses
- transforming courses for online delivery
- introducing new teaching techniques
- integrating technology effectively into all courses.
Multimedia Development
IDD’s production team assists faculty in researching and developing various multimedia resources to help make courses more interactive, lively and engaging. Sample multimedia development projects include:
- developing an interactive game for your class
- producing audio and video content for instructional use
- digitizing or reformatting existing image, audio and video resources.

If you have already worked with IDD to create a multimedia project and would like to help us improve our services, please complete the multimedia project evaluation form.
Faculty Development
IDD plans, organizes and delivers faculty development events on online course design and teaching strategies. These events can be customized to meet the needs of individual programs and departments. Contact IDD Director Sharon Guan at xguan@depaul.edu to plan an Online Teaching Institute for your area or contact your consultant to discuss other faculty development opportunities.
